Frequently Asked Questions

What's unique about this visa?

Unlike all types of visas available today, the E-2 visa is focused on the future rather than the past. Accordingly, the visa does not require the applicant to show that he has in the past conducted substantial trade, or has an academic or equivalent education, or has at least one year experience in working for the company.
The mere investment in a commercial business with a potential to create jobs is what gives the applicant the E-2 visa.

Who is likely to apply for the E-2 visa?

Our applicants so far include start-ups, private entrepreneurs, diamond-traders, and real estate management companies as well as private and corporate investors who seek to invest in a commercial business or businesses.

Which other countries have signed the same treaty with Israel?

The United States is the only country with which Israel has signed such a treaty to date.

What's the validity of the E-2 Visa?

The E-2 visa is initially issued for a three year period with the indefinite option to extend it for two-year periods as long as the requirements are met.

What is the visa period?

The E-2 visa can be issued for up to two years with the possibility of extending the status. There is no limit to the number of times a visa holder can request an extension as long as the requirements are met.
